16th ed: Assessment Day (pt 1)

With graduates all seeking work within their specialised subject area, companies and now more frequently using Assessment Days as a way of narrowing down applicants.

This week Colin is preparing for his second assessment day in two months, and he has plenty to say on the whole dog eat dog feel of assessment days. Do they add too much pressure? Does it make applicants feel like they can not fully express themselves creatively? Or are they an effective way of narrowing down stiff competition?

Joe also has his say, having experienced the dreaded assessment day situation on a number of occasions… achieving both negative and positive results.

This week we run a bit long, but hopefully you will take some of our ground breaking advice on board as you look to begin your career after University! Next week we will learn how Colin did on his Assessment Day.
