In this episode of the A Brighter Day Outreach Podcast, host Beverly Knox Davis shares exciting updates on upcoming community events and how listeners can get involved.

First up is the Monthly Community Giveback on September 20th from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the A Brighter Day community hub, 510 Sinclair Street in Charlotte. Every third Saturday, the team opens its storage building to distribute donated clothes, shoes, and household goods to neighbors in need. Donations of new or gently used items are welcome, while items in poor condition should be discarded.

Next, Beverly announces the Fourth Annual Historic Hoskins Parade and Festival on October 4th, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade will march from 511 South Hoskins Road to E.B. Barber Park, where the festival will host vendors, entertainment, and community fun for 300–400 attendees. A Brighter Day is seeking sponsors, volunteers, and participants—from dance teams and music groups to car clubs and city dignitaries. To have a logo included on the event banner, registration must be completed by September 28th.

Finally, on September 20th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., A Brighter Day Outreach is partnering with Her Essentials to present “Girl Flow” at Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church. This event will educate young girls about their bodies and provide essential hygiene products.
