In this live episode of *2 Giants Goofballs: New York Giants News & Updates*, Drew and Rob bring you the latest New York Giants news, updates, and rumors, offering a comprehensive breakdown of recent roster moves, injury reports, and Week 4 NFL predictions. As the Giants prepare for their NFC East matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, there’s a lot to cover, including key injuries and changes to the roster that could impact the game.

The episode starts with a key update from head coach Brian Daboll, who confirmed Greg Joseph will be the Giants' kicker for Thursday’s game. The decision puts Joseph in the spotlight as the Giants look to stabilize their special teams and ensure consistency in the kicking game moving forward.

Shifting to a notable roster change, TE Cager has been placed on IR due to an undisclosed injury. Cager will be required to sit out for at least four games but will be eligible to return if healthy afterward. To address the gap left by Cager, the Giants signed TE Joel Wilson, an undrafted free agent from Central Michigan. Standing at 6’4” and weighing 242 pounds, Wilson recorded 44 catches for 445 yards and six touchdowns in nine games during the 2023 season at Central Michigan. He is primarily known as a pass-catching TE, though he struggled as a blocker in college. Wilson has bounced around NFL teams, spending time with the Saints, Bills, and Packers, but has yet to appear in a regular-season game.

In another roster move, the Giants made a significant change by cutting FB Jakob Johnson. Johnson has been a physical presence for the Giants in the running game, and his departure opens up questions about how the team will adjust in that area. At the same time, LB Ty Summers has been promoted to the active roster after running out of practice squad elevations. Summers has been a key contributor on special teams for the Giants.

The injury report heading into the Cowboys game provides a clearer picture of what the Giants will be working with on Thursday. CBs Dru Phillips and Adoree Jackson have both been ruled out with calf injuries, which leaves the Giants' secondary thin. However, CB Nick McCloud, who was previously dealing with injury concerns, is not listed on the final injury report and is expected to play. WR Slayton is listed as questionable with a thumb injury, and his availability could be a game-time decision.

On the Cowboys’ side, safety Bell and CB Carson are both listed as doubtful for the game. Bell has been primarily a special teams contributor for Dallas, logging two tackles so far this season. Carso
