John and Douglas step back in this episode and share content from the inaugural 1st Lead U conference, which took place in April of 2023. Buddy Curry, currently with Kids and Pros but formerly with the Atlanta Falcons, talks about his faith, the transition from a professional athlete, and how he discovered the importance of learning to first lead himself before he could lead others. 
 
 Through his Kids and Pros nonprofit, Buddy has impacted the lives of more than 85,000 young people and their families.
 
 This is the first of four conference presentations from the 1st Lead U conference, which will be followed up with interviews of each of the speakers which in addition to Buddy Curry, included:

• Former Chattanooga Police and current Special Advisor to the Hamilton County Mayor's office, Chief David Roddy
• Director of People and Culture Experience at Southern Champion Tray, T.W. Francescon, Jr.
• Founder and Director of The Gathering  Faith Network, Segun Aiyegbusi. A Nigerian pastor who has worked with Joh for the last few months on his own personal development. 

So, join us on this journey as we hear from different voices and different perspectives that represent the four pillars of the People First Institute: Faith, Family, Business, and Government.  The People First Institute is the parent company of 1st Lead U.  The People First Institute will be producing other content in the future but launched 1st Lead U because of the growing need for people to understand how to lead themselves so they can lead others well.
